Apoptygma Berzerk‘s 2002 album, Harmonizer, was an unqualified success, and from conception to the world tour that spanned nearly all of the European countries and every major city in the United States, APB captured every bit of future pop glory on film. Even the bits in war-torn Tel Aviv, Israel. This DVD is produced quite thoughtfully for the longtime APB fan, and structured as a great primer for the newly indoctrinated APB fan.

The live performance set list includes “More Serotonin… Please,” “Suffer in Silence,” “Spindizzy,” “Kathy’s Song,” “Pikachu,” “Unicorn,” and “Until the End of the World.” Bonus features: All three music videos that were created for Harmonizer and two remixes of “Unicorn” accompanied by a slide-show of APB photographs and images.

Those who only watch their DVDs with cranked up 5.1 Dolby Stereo receivers will have to suffer, for they only rendered The Harmonizer DVD in PCM Stereo. Then again, this doesn’t turn out to be such a bad thing, as the sound is so scrumptious, it couldn’t’ve really been improved by upgrading to 5.1.

On the second disc in the package, The Unicorn EP, fans will find a deluge of “Unicorn” remixes as well as “Pikachu – No Comment Remix,” “114 BPM,” a cover of The Cure’s “A Strange Day,” and “Non-Stop Violence” performed live in Tel Aviv, Israel. All in all, a great DVD buy for future pop/synth pop fans everywhere. You know who you are.
