Distorted and doubled vocals are often a way for a vocalist who can’t sing for shit to get by. While CKC’s singer isn’t going to win any American Idol awards, who wants to? This Portland, ME band has style, chops, some studio trickery, and lots of heart. And heart can’t be taught or faked, you either got it or you don’t, and these fuckers got it. Eight songs, their debut, probably, unsigned, from a state I can point to on the map only cuz it’s big.
