Authority Zero take on economic crisis

As more and more American families feel the pinch of the current economic crisis, more working class citizens are feeling hopeless. According to the Associated Press there are approximately 3.7 million home owners in the United States who are 90 days plus past due on their mortgage loans and even more are currently unemployed or have lost their job. Arizona based punk-rock outfit Authority Zero have released their new video for “Big Bad World” as a snapshot of the current state of economic affairs with footage filmed in parts of Los Angeles, New York and Arizona.

While the video, which can be seen online at http://wevegotyoucovered.buzznet.com/user/journal/8202281/premiere-authority-zeros-big-bad/, shows the crisis’ harsh realities, the song is meant to offer fans a sense of hope and prosperity in tough times.

“‘Big Bad World’ is a song of the times. With impactful shots from all over the nation, our hopes for this song and video are that it will connect with people from all walks of life,” commented Authority Zero frontman Jason DeVore.  “From the working class man, to the corporate suits up top watching them squirm as jobs and housing go out the window and gas prices continue to inflate. We aimed to show that most everyone has been or currently is enduring the hardships of the economic down slide and global disasters. It’s a video about unity and offers listeners hope that change is possible and a new day will come if we persevere and work together.”

Authority Zero are touring in support of their new album “Stories of Survival“, which was released by Viking Funeral Records, a new label imprint founded by Pennywise guitarist Fletcher Dragge, Ken Seaton of Hardline Entertainment, and Suburban Noize Records. The album debuted on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart at #5, making it the highest-charting album of Authority Zero’s career.
