Codeine Announce Worldwide Reunion Tour

Seminal Slowcore Band To Tour In Support of Reissues Coming From Grammy Nominated Numero Group Label.

Eighteen years after disbanding, Codeine, arguably the most definitive group of the slowcore movement, is reuniting for a worldwide tour. Originally active from 1989 to 1994, the trio were an integral, though under-recognized, part of the Sub Pop roster, responsible for pioneering a majestic, minimalist approach to rock that left an indelible mark on indie music and inspired generations of musicians. For the impending tour the band has chosen to mostly forgo the festival circuit (with the exceptions of All Tomorrow’s Parties and Primavera Sound) in order to perform in intimate clubs, focusing on delivering a highly a personal experience for devoted fans. The tour kicks off on April 9th at the Sunset Tavern in Seattle and progresses across Europe and North America through mid-July.

In conjunction with their upcoming tour, Codeine is working with Grammy nominated Chicago archival label Numero Group to rerelease their full back catalog on May 22nd. Their three full lengths will be subjected to the label’s elaborate packaging and detailed liner notes, and will be accompanied by period appropriate singles, demos, Peel Sessions, and live tracks. Each album will be packaged as a double LP with a CD of the same material or collected as an ultra deluxe box set available in a limited edition of 1000 copies.
