Wild Flag kicks off US tour

Wild Flag just returned from Australia and are barely stopping to catch their collective breath before heading back on the road in the US. The tour starts March 30 in New Haven, CT and wraps up May 27 at the Sasquatch Festival. Merge label mates Hospitality are opening for several dates and are also performing at the Sasquatch Festival.

Wild Flag‘s self-titled debut album came in at # 4 on the Village Voice’s annual Pazz & Jop poll and loomed large on year end lists from Rolling Stone, Spin, Pitchfork, the AV Club and more. Pitchfork called Wild Flag “a record of passion, liberation, and friendship that fuses 70s punk and careful hints of new wave, full of jagged riffs and psychedelic keys, alternating between Brownstein’s fiery howls and Timony’s cool drawl,” while The AV Club said that the album was “a bold statement of purpose from a group of veterans who are as self-assured as ever.”
