The Front Bottoms to tour with Motion City Soundtrack

After wrapping up pivotal tours supporting Say Anything, Dashboard Confessional, Hot Rod Circuit, Matt Pryor of The Get Up Kids, and Kevin Devine – New Jersey indiepop duo The Front Bottoms continue to build momentum by announcing a string of dates supporting Motion City Soundtrack. But before they join the MCS motorcade, they’ll be hopping in their van for a condensed headline tour, which kicks off at Rumba Café in Columbus, Ohio and guides them to the West Coast over a five-day span where they’ll join forces with Motion City Soundtrack from June 14th until July 1st.

The Front Bottoms were flying under the radar until their eccentric, catchy indiepop was detected by the likes of the Alternative Press, Filter, DRUM Magazine, All Music Guide, AOL, Absolute Punk, Aquarian Weekly, Jersey Beat, and many others. The Jersey Journal, described their music as “…quirky love songs with dollops of synths, trumpet, and strings that command your attention”. The Star-Ledger adds “It is hard to come away from an encounter with The Front Bottoms without developing protective feelings about the band akin to those that Jonathan Richman’s fans feel about him” and the Los Angeles Times declared “This is a pop soundtrack for learning to live in the moment”.

In addition to the essential regional and national media, The Front Bottoms have caught the ear of key radio stations including KROQ in Los Angeles, WRFF Radio 104.5 and WXPN in Philadelphia, WFUV in New York, and Chicago’s WXRT among many others.

The Front Bottoms kicked off 2012 by being named January’s “Band of the Month” by Macbeth Footwear, followed by a live in-studio performance at Philly’s non-commercial ace WXPN (88.5 FM), which was their featured Free At Noon show at World Café Live. Their performance was also simulcast on NPR and can be heard here: http://www.npr.org/2012/01/06/144691569/the-front-bottoms-in-concert. After a 2011 that was nothing less than groundbreaking, 2012 seems to be on-track to hold even more impressive accomplishments in store. Due to their captivating sound, singable lyrics, and witty and oft times irreverent posts – they’ve developed a cult-like following on their social networks.

The Front Bottoms’ self-titled debut was released on September 6, 2011 via Bar/None Records. The Front Bottoms is Brian Sella (vocals/guitar) and Matt Uychich (drums, bullhorn), with Drew Villafuerte accompanying the band at live performances.
