I don’t know what kind of praise calling Dark Tranquility “the classiest melodic death metal band” is, but that’s how I always think of them. Everything is always so crisp and perfectly arranged – with a hint of artful restraint – that I can imagine them headbanging through a recording session in full tuxes with tails. But enough of my worrying mental issues – “The Science of Noise,” from their tenth album, Construct, has them sounding in fine shape, calling back to 2005’s Character in spirit.
