Proto-punkers Engloria debut with Evolver

Northeast proto-punk outfit Engloria have taken a bite out of 90’s era alt-rock and have spit it out into a gnarled version of their own. Take one listen to the characteristic snarl of lead singer James Stewart and you’ll feel the reverberations of his sonic punch. The band unapologetically greets you with aggression. Get ready.

Brainchild of brothers James (vocals, guitar) and Brandon Stewart (vocals, drums), Engloria began playing together in 2009, bringing in Michael Gleason on bass to round out the trio. After a slew of self-produced EPs and LPs the previous two years, Engloria have just finished mastering their new full-length album Evolver. Indeed, the two brothers self-produced and engineered each work, also the masterminds of their merch and graphics. To say the least, they are hands-on with their professionalism, as James holds a degree in design and their upcoming music video for “Gonna Be Late” being self-produced by Brandon who attended film school.

All members of the band have some connection, whether it’s a past gig playing in various touring bands, or, for instance, James’ familial connection to legendary Seattle band The Exploding Hearts. Engloria guys were born to shred, it’s in their blood.

And now with the release of Evolver, the band is set to bring their carnage worldwide, fitting considering their constant comparisons to Oasis. Says IMR Magazine, Engloria revamps the ’90s alternative we used to love while carving their own names on the bathroom wall of today’s modern rock world. And as such with any engraving, they’re here to stay, permanent fixtures in the punk scene and ready to battle it out on any stage.
