“Erika Wennerstrom has always possessed the kind of powerhouse vocals that electrify a crowd, and the atmosphere of Restless Ones lives up to that intensity.” -Pitchfork

“…a mix of country-rock twang, classic-rock heroics and restless ambition that’s not afraid to incorporate psychedelia, indie rock and pure pop songcraft.” -NPR

Restless Ones showcases frontwoman Erika Wennerstrom’s gritty, bluesy voice more than ever.”-Stereogum

“Heartless Bastards’ smoky, late-night AOR exists somewhere between Royal Trux and The Rolling Stones. [HB] opt to eschew the trappings of their recent glory in favor of furthering their artistic merit on the band’s excellent fifth LP.” -Relix

“[HB’s] most accomplished, most musical album yet, a virtual concept record about Wennerstrom seeking new horizons.” -Boston Globe

“Wennerstrom just wants to play her guitar to the very limits of its tolerances and project her wildly distinctive voice into the atmosphere.” -Cincinnati City Beat

“From the fuzzed-out shuffle of “Black Cloud” to the pop rock anthem “Gates of Dawn,” Heartless Bastards lay down thick twangy blues rock that still has traces of the grime that coated the garage rock sound of its past.”  -Glide Magazine

The Pitchfork review of Heartless Bastards’ latest LP, Restless Ones, kicks off with an apt bit of exposition: “When it comes to live shows, Heartless Bastards bassist Jesse Ebaugh has said he wants nothing less than what he calls ‘rock’n’roll communion.'” The band have announced they are taking their rock’n’roll communion on the road in February and March around the East Coast and Midwest.

Band leader Erika Wennerstrom said, “With the great time we had this past year on the road and the release of Restless Ones, 2015 was a fantastic year! We’re ecstatic to get back out in 2016 to some great cities we missed this past year and continue to share our recent album and old favorite songs with our fans. We hope your year’s off to a great start and that we see you soon. I’ve got a great feeling about 2016.”

The ‘Bastards also recently brought their fiery performance to Last Call with Carson Daly and the venerated Austin City Limits, which will air on PBS on January 30.
