Bob Mould needs no introduction to punk or rock fans, or he shouldn’t. His second band Sugar is back together for four shows in 2026 and are celebrating the release of Copper Blue – The Singles Collection on Record Store Day Black Friday, November 28. Sugar has also released “House of Dead Memories,” its first recorded output in 30 years. To be honest, you’d think Mould and the band would come up with something more complete after being away for so long. The song clocks in at just 2:06 and features Mould’s distinct plangent baritone and, of course, muscular guitars. There is melody here, but this sounds more like a well-produced sketch; maybe not sugar, but Truvia.
