Sure, Gwar’s true genius is on display only when they’re hacking off limbs and spraying blood and semen (fake, usually) in front of a live audience, but they’ve had some pretty great songs on record as of late (“Beat You To Death” is a personal favorite). “Madness at the Core of Time” is a cut above their standard thrash-fodder, featuring an impassioned delivery from Oderus Urungus. Just think of the horrors your eyes will witness when they play this live (mid-set) in your town. Remember to wear a shirt you don’t care about.
