Maybe Die Krupps’ vision is still pertinent in 1995 because some of the tracks have the magic. Most don’t ,and should have been admired as stepping stones.
Energetic, powerful, and sexy, this is a vocalist to keep a couple of eyes on. Generally guitar-driven pop rock, but the diversity keeps them exciting.
What shines out on this one is “Drop of Water,” a swamp rock fuzzy-voiced bit of LSD-soaked country twiddlings. I’d buy an entire CD of songs like that.
These Canucks were always the quintessential skate-punk band for me and my friends in the ’80s. It’s hard to believe they’re still doing the same thing.
