Moonspell – Wolfheart – Review June 1, 1995 Moonspell may be young and have certain immature song structures, but they show promise through sheer diversity.
Mind Riot – Peak – Review June 1, 1995 I can honestly say this is one of the most diverse metal albums I’ve heard. But please, next time hire a producer.
Meshuggah – Destroy Erase Improve – Review June 1, 1995 A cross between highly-advanced musician metal and death/thrash gone power metal. This’ll keep you on your toes, to say the least.
Malevolent Creation – Eternal – Review June 1, 1995 Florida death metal that roars from start to finish and never slows down. Eternal captures the essence of death metal.
Krug – Review June 1, 1995 If the name’s not cool enough for you, the music is. These Canadians bash out their pissed off barrage in the tradition of field artillery and napalm.
John Monopoly – “Dead Wrong” – Review June 1, 1995 Hard driving funk rock with a sense of ’80s humor. Great cover of Thomas Dolby’s “She Blinded Me With Science.”
Helmet – Born Annoying – Review June 1, 1995 The ten tracks span the period from 1989 to 1993. If you’re a hardcore Helmet fan, Born Annoying must become part of your collection.
Grunk – Review June 1, 1995 Heavy, with twisted guitar. This band has promise, and enough skill to rise to the top, if they have commitment.
Expulsion – Overflow – Review June 1, 1995 Rumblings so low, they sound truly evil. Growling vocals and minor chord progressions lead me to label this as doom without the surreal keyboards.
Decoryah – Wisdom Floats – Review June 1, 1995 Tragedy and beauty lurk in this badly-mixed masterpiece. Gorgeous arrangements of whispered vocals/rich choirs of angels and anguished guitar.
