Truth is, I’ve run outta new ways to describe Guttermouth’s fast’n’snotty punk antics, but that’s OK, cuz they’re basically repeating themselves by now anyway.
While the fruity squealing vocals still remind me of Gaza Stripper Rick Simms with his nuts caught in his zipper, Cheap Trick’s Zander sung pretty as a girl.
From Santa Barbara, working that Fat Wreck pop-punk style wit’ ska flavorin’s, tho’ their new pirate fixation leads ’em to dub their stuff “pirate-core.”
Two singers. One sounds really young, like Saves the Day or Anti-Flag, and the other sounds a little thicker, like a cross between The Ataris and MxPx.
They’re Swedish, a cross of Oi! and gonzo rock, so you get gruff Business vocals over charging Johnny Thunders riffs with occasional Rancid spicing thrown in.
With manic paces, female lead vocals and harmonies, a sci-fi/b-movie fetish, and an eerie funhouse keyboard, yer getting a good new spin on an old theme.
