From the ashes of Green Magnet School and Kudgel, Black Helicopter have a release on Traktor7, and now Thurston Moore’s boutique label, Ecstatic Peace.
Not really a label compilation since the majority of the 22 tracks are not by Traktor7 artists. I’ll assume it reflects the tastes and personalities of the folks behind the label. The most eclectic compilation I’ve ever heard.
Monstrously sluggish tempos, the thud-heavy, stuttering beats and ponderous basslines keeping more or less the same speed and emotional heft on every track as the guitars drone compellingly and the vocalist intones the words in a spoken monotone.
