Swingin’ Utters ooze authenticity. This San Francisco band has been touring and doing it right for so long for so little, ya really oughtta buy ’em drinks.
THE BEST two-girl-fronted ska/punk band there is. The vocalists are so distinct that when they contribute to a friend’s record, you can totally tell it’s them.
Punk anthems with occasional melodies, classic hardcore breakdown parts, “emo” sentimentality, and a roughneck vibe that only old country singers can top.
While the novelty of this novelty act has kinda worn off and How to Meet Girls is often just more of the same, it sometimes stumbles across pure genius.
Tight fucking playing, thick’n’fuzzy guitars, and, of course, the catchy melodies that only Japanese bands can create (listen to anime soundtracks for proof).
Brutal anti-everything commentary ripping away at human nature, the government, big business, slackerdom, God, injustice, violence, and avoidance/escapism.
