Some will be too “street punk” or “mod/garagey” for ya, but it’s just cool to hear bands on TKO and Hellcat back-to-back with Estrus/Bomp!/In the Red bands.
TKO said fuck it and threw a bunch of bands of totally different styles, attitudes, politics, and toughness against the proverbial wall to see what sticks.
A grouchy reviewer might grumble that TKO’s latest sampler is mostly filler, but an astute music historian would point out it’s merely carrying on the legacy.
L.A. street-level punk about drinking, chicks, flag-waving, the corruption of the American dream, and all that. Terrible-sounding drums but good guitar chaos.
