John Monopoly

John Monopoly – Head Shaking Timer in the Heart of the Strategy – Review

September 1, 1995

Johnathan Comey’s distinctive vocals teeter between mellow croon and outrage. Rick Hiller on bass and Steve Thomas on drums, never ceases to amaze.

John Monopoly – “Dead Wrong” – Review

June 1, 1995

Hard driving funk rock with a sense of ’80s humor. Great cover of Thomas Dolby’s “She Blinded Me With Science.”

Rippopotamus – with Chucklehead, John Monopoly at Local 186 – Review

October 1, 1994

John Monopoly – with Chucklehead, Rippopotamus at Local 186 – Review

October 1, 1994

Possessing one of the tightest drummer/bass combinations I’ve yet seen in a local band, John Monopoly completely blew my mind.

Chucklehead – with John Monopoly, Rippopotamus at Local 186 – Review

October 1, 1994

This band has no leash on their horn section. They rip. The drum/bass connection was earthy and solid. The gorilla costumes they came out in were a nice touch.
