Vanessa, the guitarist, is also in Bell. The drummer, Steve, was in The Gits. There’s no one else in the band, they both sing and they’ve sorta got an X vibe.
Heavyhitters Tim Kerr (Lord High Fixers, Poison 13, The Big Boys, Monkeywrench, etc.) and Lisa Kekaula (of The Bellrays) and grind out some soul groove.
Cast-off cuts copped offa Davie Allin fuzz and Flo and Eddy bup bups, Keith Moon fills circa the first or second Who record coexisting with double entendres.
I can appreciate the fact that the band almost broke up while making this record, since they doubtlessly spent too much time together recording the damn thing.
These wacky Finnskis get better and better every time. More soulful, too. They wear their grimy Stones influences on their sleeves and kick out Raw Power jams.
The greasy fingerprints of Mick Collins’ Deetroit roots are all over this thing. Whole chunksa soul backbeat galore. Ya hear it and ya wanna get up and dance.
