Featuring members of Kyuss, Queens Of The Stone Age, Goatsnake, and Fatso Jetson, this thing is full of acoustic guitars, horn sections, and mellowness.
This is one heavy band. Fully-rounded groove to kick-ass action with plenty of big, whopping blues rock underpinnings, rhythmic propulsion and guitar sustain.
A bit less wah-ridden, with more power chord mid-range punch than their previous slice, Neanderthal Speedway. “More nuts in the fudge,” as my mom used to say.
The tunes are OK, the playing flawless, and the recording shakes a leg. Another band who could open for Monster Magnet and win over a bunch of their fans.
A corollary to some of the grits’n’grease doom bands from the DC area, although the recording is a bit tentative and it’s less “Southern” and more psychedelic.
