Most bands do a fine job of replicating the originals, with a few adding their own flavor. Reel Big Fish place a gentle dub into the lullaby “Close Our Eyes.”
Reel Big Fish don’t move a lot on stage, and they take a lot of time to talk between songs. The slow pace of the show is a misrepresentation of the obvious playfulness of the band.
Near the end of “Rio,” Goldfinger switches from ska to Dio’s “Rainbow in the Dark,” both in rhythm and vocal melodies, yet keeps the lyrics to “Rio” intact.
