Motocaster – Stay Loaded – Review

Motocaster

Stay Loaded (Interscope)
by Paul Lee

Been walloped over my noggin’. Musically, that is. Trust me, this doesn’t usually happen to me, but after checking this disk out, I was seeing stars and great big Marshall amps swimming around in my head. The guilty party was Motocaster and they call their new bombastic blast Stay Loaded. Hell, who needs to get loaded with stuff like Motocaster roaring through your ears?

Forget about punk weenies like Green Day – Motocaster is just the punk-tainted band to put them back in their daycare centers. Just imagine the best pre-punk shit like MC5 and The Stooges and mix it up with The Clash, the Sex Pistols, and Black Flag. If you can almost hear this, stop trying and check out Motocaster. These guys are a mere trio, but they blast like a full quintet of madmen.

Yeah, they’re noisy and obnoxious, but damn fun. They’ve also got a three-chord roarer called “Uranus” (OK, so there are many three-chord type roarers) along with “Motorolla Blues” and the chugging “Broken Eyes.” Add to all this some nice, near mellow songs like “Farrah” and “Truth,” which could even be said to resemble Neil Young.

With my incessant rambling near finished, I tell you; obtain this creation by Motocaster if you know what’s good and fun for ya. Let loose and be a bacchanalian madperson. Most of all, get loaded with Get Loaded!
