Plank – at T.T. the Bear’s – Review

Plank

at T.T. the Bear’s
by Joey Ammo

A number of scene notables turned out for the debut of Plank, a four-piece alternapop act fronted by the impressive Lisa Rahon, and backed by what might be some of the best players seen in recent years in these clubs. T.T.’s’ Dana McDonald is becoming known for supporting female-fronted acts, and Plank’s deliberate rock format, a refreshing change from the recent glut of Gothic female-fronted bands, struck a chord with this audience, especially the crooning, acidic “Die,” a song most female artists would love to have written. Rahon and her fold will be making their mark out here; I suggest you keep an ear peeled.
