Good Riddance – For God and Country – Review

Good Riddance

For God and Country (Fat)
by Scott Hefflon

While not as gravelly as Rancid’s vocals, Good Riddance vocalist Russ Rankin has a harsher, more forceful singing style than many melodic punk bands. His vocal rant is angry and social, bordering on hardcore at times, but the drum rampage and guitar assault are punk rock, through and through. The songs never slow down, from the first song to the final chords of “October,” track #12. Thirty jam-packed minutes of it-doesn’t-have-to-be-this-way sentiment laid over tunes to get you off your ass.
