SNFU – The One Voted Most Likely To Succeed – Review

SNFU

The One Voted Most Likely To Succeed (Epitaph)
by Scott Hefflon

The boys who helped build the bandwagon are back to burn it down. With their previous release, Something Green and Leafy This Way Comes (Epitaph), SNFU returned to the profitable world of punk rock. Touring like anxious kids again, Mr. Chi Pig and the boys did a couple European tours with Green Day and Bad Religion, sold a shitload of CDs and got re-addicted to the “rock star lifestyle.” Always witty and powerful, T.O.V.M.L.T.S. (don’t you hate when people do this?) packs more harmonies into every punch, and the production of David Ogilvie (of Skinny Puppy, go figure) streamlines this puppy. Slick, yet powerful as hell, SNFU still has the meaty hooks that slide beneath your skin and make you move your ass. By the way, in case you’re not familiar with Chi’s lyrical concoctions: Buy it, read it, memorize it, and mouth the words at as many shows of theirs you can catch.
