The bio reads, “(our music) avoids easy categorizing, but it is still very focused and to the point. That point being, to make you gag.” I’m not sure how difficult this is to categorize but their “point” is well taken. This is disgusting grindcore with no holds barred. Soilent Green includes Brian Patton, the guitarist for psychotic crustmeisters EyeHateGod, and the influence of the latter is apparent. Venomous anger articulated well on a musical canvas, with free-form time changes and switching of vocal styles. They alternate between the barbaric death metal growl of Entombed and the scream-then-grunt grunt/scream style of Disrupt. The drummer and guitarists sound like they’ve been heavily influenced by jazz. The lyrics are intentionally offensive, which was the reason it was refused by the original printer.
