Mourning Sign – Alienor – Review

Mourning Sign

Alienor (Flying)
by Tim Creter

Dark, grim, and moody, just like the name implies. The four songs on this are powerful compositions of despair, with many dramatic time changes and rhythms. The vocals are reminiscent of Gorefest and Brutality, but there is a melodic choir in the slower passages. Their songs tend to flow from somber, funereal dirges, to hyperfast blasts of rage. Notables include “Godsend,” which is brutally melodic, and “No Paradise,” which has some interesting rhythms. Progressive death metal without long and boring songs. Sad yet powerful.
