Blowtorch Consequence (Another Planet)
by Scott Hefflon
I wasn’t enthused by the single “Blowtorch.” It was energetic and enraged and all, but it was also choppy, disjointed, and an overly funk/jazz/hardcore clusterfuck. Now I’ve decided those are endearing qualities when put in context with the rest of the album. Some are tight as shit aggression, some are noodlings in the lo-fi swamps of noise, and the rest range from rock to hardcore. A couple of the harmonized distorto-rants were almost Clutchish. Dripping Goss is a dumb name, but a great band.
