Marcellus Hall – 4-Track Recordings – Review

Marcellus Hall

4-Track Recordings (Walt)
by Jon Sarre

Psychedelic-tinged blues-stylings from the Railroad Jerk frontman. A friend of mine took one listen and termed it “hippie music;” I guess that’s pretty apt. The final cut, “I Want to Sleep With You,” is twenty or thirty seconds of Hall singing and playing like the ghost of a long-dead blues man coming out of the speakers 50,000 miles and fifty years beyond the grave. It’s chilling. I’ve played it over and over and my skin still crawls.
