Beats The Hell Out of Me – Rolling Thunder Music – Review

Beats The Hell Out of Me

Rolling Thunder Music (Metal Blade)
by Scott Hefflon

Yup, it does. Sometimes psychedelic, sometimes smooth and groovy, sometimes hard and choppy, and sometimes rocking and passionate. Hints of Pearl Jam and Prong, all tastily produced by Ross Robinson (the man who gave Korn their vintage/heavy identity) and performed with a flair distinctively their own. While the grunge rock singles are notable and actually quite good, it’s the spiritual wandering in the desert that makes this album important. Original, to say the least.
