Substitute Ozzy with a sultry female singer and Shakespearean voice samples, then replace the acid rock guitars with techno synths. What you’re left with are memories of a more Gothic Black Sabbath, with statuesque, not comic book, morbidity. Battery have heart and it shows, but the album lacks the twists and turns to keep it interesting all the way through.
