Crank – Review

Crank

by Mark Phinney

With Travis Bickle on the front and Chow-Yun-Fat on the back there can only be one type of meat in this apocalypse sandwich. What a forward, biting commentary on Boston pseudo literary connection through the Boston Phoenix or the Fine Print. The editor has a surefire way of sending Boston’s big bird down in flames. Crank specializes in murderous or pornographic news tidbits mixed in with Hitler propaganda and violent film outtakes. Included is a special feature on our own country club the Combat Zone. And an obituary on Bukowski. Suggested, but not for the faint of heart.
