Pusher – Problems – Review

Pusher

Problems (Oblivion)
by Jeff Fritz

Sgt. Pepper meets Lenny Kravitz for a drink in San Francisco. They cop some greenbud on Haight Street and, after rolling a fatty, go out cruising for girls until the wee hours of the morning. Sometime during the evening they run across Billy Preston and Trent Reznor at a bar in North Beach and everybody gets sloppy drunk on Long Island Iced Teas before a screaming pre-dawn ride over the mountainous cliffs of coastal Route 1. A few miles south, down in Santa Cruz, Tommy Joy (formerly of Supreme Love Gods) and his new band, Pusher, are writing and recording the soundtrack to this adventure though none of the parties involved are aware at the time that this is what’s going on. That’s what it sounds like to me. Every listener’s interpretation may vary, but I bet not by much.
