Bruce Dickinson – Alive From Studio C – Review

Bruce Dickinson

Alive From Studio C (CMC)
by Paul Lee

With a talented new band and a streamlined attitude, Bruce Dickinson has taken a more straight-shooting, heavy rock approach than his former mates in Maiden. Taking material from his first solo album Tattooed Millionaire (done when he was still in Maiden’s ranks) and his most recent effort, Balls To Picasso, Dickinson and Co. put out a double album consisting of live performances and an in-studio show for a scrapped radio session. Granted, there’s nothing novel about Dickinson’s approach here, but the material on Alive in Studio C kicks harder than the versions on the first two studio albums. Even if Bruce can’t sell this stuff, he’s still got his fencing and storybook writing!
