Deadguy – Fixation on a Co-Worker – Review

Deadguy

Fixation on a Co-Worker (Victory)
by Tim Creter

Easily the most intense band and most pissed off release of the year. These psychopaths take hardcore and turn it into spazzcore. Listening to any of the songs makes you want to run around, tear the flesh off your own arms, and stab somebody in the head with a knife. Interested yet? This music is fuel for the mass murderer. It gnaws at your mind and commands you to destroy. This full-length has to be heard to be believed. Deadguy is the perfect name for this band. Nobody could be this angry and still be alive. As much as the band plays like criminally insane savages, there is a surprising amount of control in their aggression. The songs are structured, well-written, and cannot be passed off as simple or mindless. It’s hard to imagine that this band actually performs this music. Their driving sound and ferocious vocals deliver a lifetime of hatred and hostility. What else can one say? There is so much unrelenting rage and fury captured on this disc that the listener is struck at the end with the question “Why?” Or even more disturbing, “How?”
