Two of the most inventive guitar throbbers of the past decade, Sonic Boom (Spacemen 3, Spectrum) and Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine), melt their plectra together for a slow twirl around the cosmos, far beyond Windham Hill. Hard to describe without lapsing into druggy purple prosaics, so I’ll refrain and simply opine that their guitar/synth wisps hit the drone zone with ambient beauty unsurpassed since the pioneering proto-ambient classics of Fripp & Eno. Drop a tab into your herbal tea and swish around the ecstasy.
