I’m always on the lookout for ‘zines that pack their pages with my kind of candy. After seeing what Cheeseball held in store, I knew right away that the reputation this new ‘zine has made for itself is well earned. This local Boston mag covers the swingin’ scene in and around town: that happening rockabilly, surfy, lounge thing. Cheeseball is just the ‘zine to give up the props it deserves. Issue 3, sharp but not slick, was a dream for me with coverage of The Royal Crowns, The Derangers, and those sultry surf daddies, The Itchies, who do rock, but hey. The reviews cover the gamut of Lounge Trash that the kids are all abuzz over. In the world of music ‘zines, Cheeseball is a groovy departure, and a breath of fresh air. Keep up the Cheese.
