Stavesacre – Friction – Review

Stavesacre

Friction (Tooth & Nail)
by Tim Creter

My God, this band is good. Stavesacre plays driving, heavy, passionate hardcore that just sweeps you off your feet and opens your eyes. This is one of those bands that stretches the boundaries of hardcore, like Orange 9mm, that adds a real element of progression and experimentation to achieve near perfection. It’s a mature, rock-solid, heavy as hell groove band that also has, (drum roll please) a real singer! Vocalist Mark Saloman, formerly of The Crucified, complements the music with a powerful and passionate voice and introspective, unsettling lyrics that sear through your soul. From the opening roar of “Threshold,” to the unholy atmosphere of “Devil,” this band defies trends and pushes hardcore to the stars. Three thumbs up, 11 out of 10, A++, this is truly a masterpiece. If you think you’ve heard all there is in hardcore, give this a shot, tough guy.
