This is pretty neat-o pop-punk stuff in a Superchunk/early Pixies vein, not the kind of thing that challenges anyone’s expectations, but they do get spacy where they should get spacy and they pretty much rock everywhere else. I gave up trying to read the near-unintelligible lyric sheet (never mind the distorted, near-indecipherable vocals), so I’m not really sure what everyone’s yelling about, but I guess the Pulitzer Prize people aren’t gonna be calling up Couch of Eureka anyway. They used to be called simply “Couch” until some other band named Couch threatened a lawsuit. They were probably just jealous.
