Sisterboy – I Wish to You – Review

Sisterboy

I Wish to You
by Steve Tremain

A strange combination of ’50s and ’60s sci-fi/horror movie (in)sensibility, dub, trip hop, Bowie, and random sound effects – this EP shows a depth not usually reached with a debut, self-produced CD. Songs about the overweight beauty Divine, B-movie actress Susan Cabot, and a cover of Joni Mitchell’s “A Strange Boy.” Sure beats the hell out of that Primitive Media Hacks, or whatever it’s called. This could be called “Standing Under A Broken Streetlight With A Dry Martini In My Hand.”
