Masquerade – Surface of Pain – Review

Masquerade

Surface of Pain (Metal Blade)
by Scott Hefflon

Dear Lord! This “new age of metal” sounds like those late ’80s bands I used to love in the late ’80s. The repetition is intentional. It took me years to cleanse my system. Now this powermetal stuff comes back in hordes, dickless falsetto böyz aren’t getting their asses kicked for being such annoying fairies, and the choruses are sounding more like Warrant every day. Can fat girls in spandex be far behind? Should I buy stock in hairspray now? Yeah, yeah, yeah, Masquerade is from Sweden and not Tinseltown, but that doesn’t mean I can’t hate them. A lot.
