Future Loop Foundation – Time And Bass – Review

Future Loop Foundation

Time And Bass (Mammoth)
by Joshua Brown

Just a thought: What if New Age music has already gone the way of New Wave music? What if New Wave is to the current plethora crowding the “alternative” airwaves, what New Age is to (neo-) ambient and jungle? In other words, New Age, like New Wave, could be seen as paving the way for further invention, while the concept of being “new” exists only in name. Whale songs are beautiful and mysterious, but what if whales are responding to a rhythm that humans can’t sense, and furthermore, what if whales had access to samplers? Time and Bass, the new album by Mark Barrot’s one-man project Future Loop Foundation, provides the answers, in plain ambience and concise drum’n’bass, to this and many other important questions you may not have thought to ask.
