Jim Mathias wrote but one song for the new album, but considering it’s over 55 minutes long, it was enough. Joining the band are ex-Armored Saint bassist Joey Vera and Dream Theater keyboardist Kevin Moore. Produced by Terry Brown (most famous for his work with Rush), A Pleasant Shade of Gray is a crystallized dream, an atmospheric wonder filled with the tricky time changes only Fates or Rush could tackle successfully.
