Rock icons Queensrÿche have released their first track, “Man The Machine,” off of their forthcoming LP, The Verdict, due out March 1st, 2019 via Century Media.
ARCH/MATHEOS’ Jim Matheos and John Arch are currently working together on a new album that will be released in late spring/early summer via Metal Blade Records.
If you follow these genres, most of these bands are familiar. They’re mostly the big names, with little “filler,” and omissions were probably licensing issues.
It doesn’t suck ass cuz it doesn’t focus on only one time period of RJD, a man who’s sauntered through two great bands and had a great (early) solo career.
Engine idles too closely to Alder’s prog rock background, and when they get “dark and heavy,” they sound like heavy-for-heavy’s-sake riffs Filter woulda tossed.
A Pleasant Shade of Gray is a crystallized dream, an atmospheric wonder filled with the tricky time changes only Fates or Rush could tackle successfully.
