Hymns For An Unknown God (Too Damn Hype)

While this is essentially a hardcore band with serious metal leanings, the metal riffs (complimented by fills, whammy bar tricks, and soloing tidbits) drag Stigmata into the mud with the rest of the keep-at-it-guys. While earnest, they fall into the easiest trap in hardcore; if ya “go metal,” don’t ya think metal monsters like Pantera are always going to whup your ass ’cause they’ve been doing it longer, they can afford better production, and hell, maybe they’re just plain better than you are.
