Three Years Down – Kill the Cool – Review

Three Years Down

Kill the Cool (Wingnut)
by Jon Sarre

This ain’t gonna challenge anyone’s expectations about the future of music, but Three Years Down plays good, tight punk rock and that should be enough. Kill the Cool is the first full-length from this Oakland quartet and they do have major stuff goin’ on both musically and lyrically. Out of the eleven tracks included, “Cut You Down” comes closest to brilliance with its mid-tempo slash and burn riffage, grainy vocals and “hey, hey” half-chorus, but like I said, the other ten ain’t no slouches either.
