Remember Sandra Dee’s transformation in Grease? Well, that’s whatcha get when the sassy chicks in Hot Damn! strap on their, um, instruments. On this two-song 7″ of pleasure, the Damn-sels cover The Periscopes’ “Beaver Shot” and The Genteels’ “Take It Off!.” Unlike High Heels Slut, which had Zebra and Kristina squealing that their panties were too tight and other adorable trash-talking, the two songs here are mostly instrumental. The sexy sax does more singin’ than the swingin’ members. The guys’ voices join the babes’ in shouting out the name of the song. Fuzzily spy-hunter-goes-barroom-blues, these songs are destined to be faves at parties were people dance on coffee tables, grope blindly at shapes (blurrily) resembling the opposite sex, and no one remembers a damn thing the next morning.
