The PeeChees – The Drags / The PeeChees split – Radio Disappears – Review

The PeeChees

The Drags / The PeeChees split – Radio Disappears (G.I. Productions)

Two Bay Area bands bulldoze over each others’ songs. The Drags pound through The PeeChees’ “Slick’s Living It Up (at the Bottom of the Sea)” like a bunch of basement tapeworms who just found a sub-Ubu knobs ‘n’ wires synthesizer that they can’t keep their hands away from while they wring fresh changes out of the two chords they could figure out in “Steppin’ Stone.” The PeeChees take the Drags’ “Well Worth Talkin’ About,” infect it with Germs, and bawl through the initial rushblush of infection with bratty delirium.
