Estrus’ foray into Stax/Motown territory. That’s to say that The Crown Royals got soul and Mr. Ken Vandermark plays a mean sax, but Booker T. had a meaner organ and the MGs coulda cut these boys’ heads quicker than you could say “Jack Robinson.” The Royals don’t say too much cuz they’re an all-instrumental outfit, but I figure that’s okay ‘specially if ya just wanna get down and cut loose and don’t wanna listen to some front man yellin’ at ya ’bout how much fuckin’ funk he’s got.
