While it almost sounds obvious to say that even after 12 albums, Thor is a silly, silly man, I was really hoping this album would rock. As an An”Thör”logy, this record runs the gamut – vintage Alice Cooper, Cherry Bomb’s breathy ballads, cock-rock arm wrestling, and material that makes Spinal Tap look serious. Fortunately, the first two tracks are such silly galloping Viking metal, ya can’t help but want to sing along while clomping empty coconut shells together. That’s right, go with it.
